Meet Akshay
Akshay Anantapadmanabhan is an internationally acclaimed Carnatic percussionist with over 25 years of experience playing the mridangam. A disciple of the legendary Guru T.H. Subash Chandran, he represents the Tanjore tradition of mridangam playing. Akshay’s distinct tonality, balance, and versatile musical approach have earned him global recognition. He has toured extensively, collaborated across genres, and mentored students worldwide, blending rhythm traditions with innovation through his performances, workshops, and online learning platform — Nam Dhi Academy.
